The concept of Supply Chain Management developed in Europe in the middle of the 90s, and attracted a large number of industrialists due to the results it promised. The results for many are today often less than expected, as the financial gains were often less than promised, investments exceeding the envisaged budgets, and projects occasionally reaching an impasse.
Despite this, there are real sources of productivity, improvements of service rates and stock reduction, thanks to better management of the logistic chain. Our know-how is based on a perfect understanding of the Japanese concept of "Just in Time" firstly developed by the transformation and assembly industries, and then more broadly to the administration of flows of materials and information. The ultimate goal of “Just in Time” is the maximum reduction of lead times in all “customer-supplier” processes, focussing activities on “Added Value” operations.
