The conventional approach in the development process involves starting from specifications, whether from a customer request or a technical constraint. The high performance approach firstly involves discovering the requirements and benefits that a product or service can render a customer, and only afterwards seeking how the functional characteristics will interact.
Thanks to the new methods developed, there are no longer an infinite number of shapes or moulds. In place of the “Blitz HoQ”, as well as the benefits already mentioned, the method also makes it possible to focus development resources as a priority on the functional characteristics which are correlated with the benefits most expected by customers. This makes it possible to effectively move from the Voice of the Customer to the Voice of the Designer, without forgetting benchmarking with competitors and the point of view of the sales force.
