All value creation flows are served and supported by administrative flows which are currently strongly called into question due to the requirement for responsiveness. It is not uncommon these days to encounter order management flows with a timeframe equivalent to that of the production of the product or service.

By applying techniques resulting from TPS to offices, it is possible to significantly reduce lead times, increasing productivity and the quality of administrative processes.

Through a flow mapping, added value points are identified and all forms of wastage eliminated or reduced. The SMED is applied to the office to reduce the size of batches; the 5S to work in an effective and certain environment; the Kanban is used to synchronise work tasks and supply orders. The working environment is organised ergonomically and encourages team work.
